Adrienne Lawrence is the founder and managing director of Her Financial Partner, LLC. She leads a team of people who are obsessed with customizing the ideal roadmap to guide clients to their financial dreams. Before launching her company in Washington, D.C., she worked for Navy Federal Credit Union as a licensed mortgage specialist, public notary, IRA and Trust specialist, and met with members from across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Before Navy Federal, Adrienne was an insurance agent working with labor union members and their families.
With Adrienne's family background and personal interests, she specializes in working with artists, journalists, and women to plan their financial needs. With the sometimes sporadic ways artists and journalists are paid, having a plan is critical to one day retiring (or at least working only if you want to, not have to). Adrienne's mother was an artist and Adrienne worked as a journalist for 10 years.
Adrienne serves as one of the vice chairs of the Washington Capital Regional Executive Board and is a member of the #GetOnBoard Leadership Committee. Both the D.C. board and #GetOnBoard committee are part of the national organization, How Women Lead. Adrienne also volunteers with Miriam's Kitchen, a D.C. nonprofit working to end chronic homelessness.
Previously Adrienne was a committee member of Women WHO Opera, a committee serving the Washington National Opera (WNO) and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She continues to subscribe to the WNO and supports the arts. Adrienne also served the Neighborhood Relationship Committee for the building she lives in and the Events Committee for the University of Oxford Society of Washington, D.C. Adrienne also was a member of the Membership Committee with the American Advertising Federation (AAF) of Washington, D.C., and a past president of another AAF chapter. When she worked as a journalist, Adrienne also served on a number of non-profit boards, including the Journalism and Women’s Symposium.
With her lifelong love of numbers, and ability to understand complex systems, she uses her communication skills as a journalist to make finances approachable. She was a Coca-Cola Scholar at Hood College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and minor in web development. She also studied literature at St. Peter’s College, Oxford University. Born and raised in San Antonio, Tx., Adrienne also graduated from San Antonio College with an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts as part of the Presidential Honors Program. While there, she competed around the country and won many awards with the Speech Team.
Growing up, Adrienne studied music and was a soprano, which gave her a lifelong love of the arts, with music in particular. In her spare time, she loves to try her hand at creative projects, is an avid vinyl collector, thrives on learning something new, and is thrilled to experience the arts in D.C. with friends.
